Over the years human race has come so far. Realisations have been made and progress has been achieved. This includes giving up practices and customs that are evil and unnecessary, which have been deemed the backbone of culture or tradition. It is the simple realisation that nothing is here forever, no one knows the truth and hence truth is ever changing. First they said that Earth is the center of the Universe but now we now that it is not the case. So as we understand that something is not right we must be willing to accept the change, I am not saying that it was easy to get over with Heliocentric theory, but we did after so much resistance and cries. That is growth, that is progress, that is true development.

Given above is a news that appeared in The Hindu dated 20-08-2024, it shows the sheer cruelty done towards fellow creatures. It is not a question of culture or tradition, it is a question of right and wrong. Unwanted pain and torture, getting killed for no reason. If we can still justify such acts of mankind I don’t know what intellectual growth we have achieved. Animals too have emotions and feelings, the only difference is that they don’t have such advanced brains in terms of thinking and innovation, still, they can feel pain, they get scared, they get traumatized, and they feel hurt. Nothing makes the life of other animals less than that of a human, after all, humans are self-proclaimed advanced animals. All it takes is a little empathy, don’t do to others what you are not willing to go through. It is not that hard to build a better world. Justifications are always available, but deep down we know what is right and what is wrong.
