Why it is not Delulu.

Most of us must be familiar with the following experiment related to pressure:

There will be two containers, one filled with water and another container that is slightly filled. When these two containers are connected using a pipe or straw, water flows from the first container to the second. This will continue until both the containers have an equal amount of water.

This is somewhat similar to how life works. We like the container filled with water. Full of ideas, dreams and visions. We believe that everything is possible. We trust that God/universe/luck/self with whole heart and plan a life entirely different from reality around us.

As we go thriving, someone comes along. One with limited ideas. One who believes that our dreams have to be tangible. One who says that you have to be extraordinary to achieve things outside of your current reality. One who puts labels like possible and impossible. One who tries to drag you down to the level of fear, doubt and complexity.

This can be friends, family or strangers who comment “Look who is dreaming of becoming a millionaire”, “Here we have the wielder of human destiny.”

It makes us question, it makes us wonder, it shakes us. We ask ourselves “Am I really delusional like they say?” Then we try correcting them.

We try to put sense into them. We try to make them see what we see. We try to make them understand ‘What is meant to be, will be.’ We go over and beyond to prove that we are right. And what happens…?

Some change a bit, some refuse to heed, very few start seeing our vision. We start feeling demotivated. We wonder about those that don’t see the potential in us and what we envision. And as the noise gets louder, we slowly start shutting down our dreams and lowering our level. We change under pressure, like the container that was filled gave away to balance pressure.

Slowly we reach a level, accepting defeat and declaring ourselves that we were delusional. We create new sets of dreams and goals that are wayyyyy much simpler than what we could have achieved if we didn’t give in.

We settle in and start judging others who dare to dream. That becomes our life, only because we chose the voices around us and not our vision.

But what would have happened if we closed the pipe or cut the connection? What would have happened if you chose people who dreamt like you?

Know that your dream is there for a reason. Know that you don’t have to be extraordinary, but have to believe in yourself and the higher power. Life is not a checklist to be ticked by a certain age. Just because people around you cannot see your vision or are too absorbed by ‘their’ reality doesn’t mean your dreams are not achievable.

Learn to shut the doubts and unnecessary voices. Instead work on yourself and stay rooted in your dreams. The truth is that the higher power you believe in wants the best for you. It is those that are too comfortable within the boxes that say otherwise.

You have been given the vision for a reason. You are made to feel different for a reason. You are made to think different for a reason. You are given these challenges and struggles for a reason. Keep thriving.Nothing is impossible.

When in doubt remember:

“Flying machines which do not Fly” an editorial published in the New York Times on October 9,1903 predicted it would take millions of years for humanity to develop an operating flying machine. BUT, the Wright brothers successfully flew their aircraft on December 17, 1903.

So, it is not Delulu. If you are being tagged delusional, be happy that you are not settling for the boxes like the rest. Just because they don’t see it doesn’t mean it is not possible.
